We present you 2016 Ford Mustang Rocket by Henrik Fisker and Galpin Auto Sports. If you though this Mustang has been meant to be introduced at the SEMA show, you are wrong. This car has been intended for production. GAS President Beau Boeckmann and Henrik Fisker joined forces in 2014 to come up with the design for the new model.

You can see the result – an aggressive, heavily redesigned Mustang Rocket. The car features carbon fiber front end, hood, and fenders, which are wider. Suspension with fully adjustable shocks is fitted to the vehicle, and the limited number of units has been produced.

Exterior

If you haven’t heard of Henrik Fisker, he was the guy who pinned the BMW Z8. In addition, he also developed a vehicle which was offered under his own name for a while – The Fisker Karma. So, yes, Henrik Fisker is a familiar name in the car industry. He has also raised the 2016 Ford Mustang to the whole new level with the Rocket model.

As we have already mentioned, a lot of carbon fiber has been used. The hood is very large and sloped. The grille is hexagonal with a horizontal line which stretches from one end to another. On the middle of the front segment, there is a Mustang logo, whereas, the lighting is also integrated into the grille. There are twin hood scoops, which are supposed to remind us of the 1968 Shelby GT500.

The vehicle features 21-inch wheels that are hiding or better say proudly showing the 2016 Ford Mustang Rocket 15-inch, high-performance Brembo brakes. On the side, there are large dual inlets right in front of the wheels, and they go into extra-wide fender flares.

On the rear, you can find a sculpted decklid spoiler that perfectly matches the lower air diffuser. Furthermore, the license plate surround is hexagonal just like the front grille while the quad exhausted pipes are located at the bottom.

The interior has been changed a lot. The 2016 Ford Mustang Rocket sports bright-red leather seats and the whole cabin just looks different. Moreover, you can find a center console and center stack, door panels and dashboard come with some carbon-fiber details for a sportier appearance. The customers are able to add some option to the cabin, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Under the Hood

The real gem is under the hood where we have the DOHC 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine. The Whipple supercharger is added, and with it, this unit produces 725 hp. Unfortunately, this is the only information we know regarding the engine or any improvements done to it. The car would come out with an ECU tune, free-flow cats, and larger fuel injectors. Moreover, easy-breathing air intakes and headers are possible as well.

Ford Mustang Rocket Price

The production of the 2016 Ford Mustang Rocket was scheduled to start in December 2014. The starting price of the car has been just over $100,000, which is expensive for most.

The 2015 spin-off already proved that Fisker and Galpin Auto Sports can create fantastic cars. The 2016 model looks stunning, and whether you love Mustang or not, you need to admit that you would like to have one of these. The largest competitor of the 2016 Ford Mustang Rocket is Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. However, the Rocket looks much better than the Hellcat, but it is the only vehicle that can be compared to the Mustang.

The SRT Hellcat comes with a 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 rated at 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. This is the main reason to compare it to the Rocket.

Do you like the 2016 Ford Mustang Rocket? We believe that this is an attractive car and although it hasn’t been the only modded version it is certainly one of the best.
