2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Spotted Without Camouflage

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL has stripped down the camouflage, and it looks just like we expected. The next-gen vehicle was seen inside Jeep’s Toledo factory, while the photo, which was not supposed to be taken, was posted at JLWranglerForums.

First of all, even blurry, the photo clearly shows that it is a four-door Wrangler Unlimited. This model is known as the JLU, and its tires, rock rails and lack of badging suggest that this is a Sport model. However, there are hood vents as well, which was visible on former upper-class trims or special editions. Jeep redesigned the windshield bump-stops on the hood, while we can also see the side vent that is positioned behind the front fender.

Furthermore, there are strong creases on the cowling panel and doors, which help break up the flat vertical sides featured on the previous Wrangler JL. New side mirrors are installed, whereas the push-button door handles are removed and replaced by black pull-style handles. The front fenders have been modified, and this Jeep in the photo comes with the soft top, which is luckily kept. Inside, there are black seats covered in protective plastic, but that is all we can see for now. The 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL will be officially introduced at the 2017 LA Auto Show in November.

There was so much hype about the next-gen Wrangler, but we all knew what to expect. The company is not going to abandon the iconic design so easily, and we have another great vehicle for the Jeep Wrangler enthusiasts. However, excitement over this one is natural since model in question is the most important in the Jeep lineup and one of the best models in the entire FCA family.

The engineers nailed it – the new Wrangler will be a more civilized SUV, but still ruthless if you take it off the road. The sales should go smoothly for the next-gen considering that the current model has done well. For example, in 2015, more than 220,000 examples of Jeep Wrangler were sold in North America only.

What do you think about the new SUV?
