2018 Nissan Qashqai Facelift Has Been Spied

The second-generation Qashqai went on sale in Europe four years ago, so it is about time Nissan decided to test prototypes of the facelifted model. And yes, there is one, currently tested in Spain, with covered front and rear fascias, side mirror caps, and even camouflaged wheels.

It is hard to tell what lies beneath the camouflage, but it is expected that the new 2018 Nissan Qashqai takes after the Qashqai Premium Concept presented at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. From what we can see, the alloy wheels and fog lights of the test mule look the same as the ones that can be seen on the concept. The mirror caps will also be redesigned, which is something you rarely get as a part of the mid-cycle revision.

The driver was not alone in the 2018 Nissan Qashqai, and with him, we can see a test dummy on the passenger seat also known as a full-scale anthropomorphic test device. There is also at least one of these in the backseat, and their purpose is to simulate the weight of the human body.

Although we cannot see what is inside the vehicle, we can assume that the 2018 Nissan Qashqai will be equipped with materials of higher quality such as Nappa leather seen in the concept. Last year Qashqai Premium Concept design manager, Darryl Scriven, said: ”The concept was designed to be feasible for production.” Larger alloy wheels and a matte black paint will probably be offered as well, but only for the range-topping model.

In Europe, people will soon get to see the refreshed Nissan Qashqai, while in the US, this car will hit the market under the name of Rogue Sport. Stay tuned for more details.
