2019 Ford Ranger V6 Australia Spy Photos Surfaced!

We have exclusive spy photos of 2019 Ford Ranger! Yes, this is the real thing here. It is expected that Ford will reveal this vehicle with a set of new engines for the launch in North America market next year.

Ford took some notes from Chevrolet this year. They will create a vehicle with almost exactly the same body and looks, however, the difference will be under the hood. Chevy did that with the American ‘Colorado’ model as opposed to Australian ‘Holden Colorado’ one. This is a principle of having the same ‘shell’ but different interior and engine lineup.

As we can see from these spy photos, the front of the vehicle is almost identical. Recognizable Blue Oval some may say with the same headlights and the same body. We spotted a side-exiting exhaust which may suggest that this vehicle may be equipped with one of three high-output engines.

The first option is Ford’s powerful 3.5-litre turbocharged EcoBoost V6 unit with the ability to produce 280 kW and 637 Nm of torque. It will also have a bit ‘weaker’ version, the 2.7-liter turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine that produces 242 kW and 508 Nm of torque. The third choice is the diesel representative as the US company introduced the brand new Power Stroke unit with 3.0-litre displacement. When it comes to power, it is yet to be revealed by Ford. We also expect a debut of new 10-speed automatic transmission since it is compatible with the ‘EcoBoost’ engines.

When it comes to wheels, we can see from these photos that all four corners will bring disc brakes which clearly shows that these vehicles will have higher-output engines. At the moment, the Ranger uses drum brakes at the rear end and disc brakes at the front.

This type of system is needed because of the power of these vehicles, and this is not a novelty. We saw that in the Japanese ‘Great Wall Steed’ and the V6 Amarok.

Thanks to ‘Car Advice’ we had an exclusive reveal of a Ford Ranger Raptor which is expected to have a turbocharged V6 EcoBoost upon its launch. However, when it comes to the Australian market, Ford didn’t share much intel on the next Ranger. It is expected to have numerous features and on top of that one or two engines made for its American twin. We don’t expect anything out of the ordinary since Ranger models have been a great hit in Australia.

It is expected that the 2019 Ford Ranger will pave the way for the new Ford Bronco (engineered exclusively in the US) but also for an Australian next generation Everest.
