Anxiety is often referred to as the modern day plague. Its impact can be seen everywhere, slowly interfering without happiness, as well as our ability to live our lives productively. 1. Question the pattern of your thoughts
Constant negative thoughts can take root in your brain and disturb the severity of a specific situation. One way to battle anxiety is to challenge your fears, wonder if they are true, and see if and when can you take back the control.

2. Practice focused, deep breathing

You should try breathing in for 4 counts, and then breathing out for 4 counts for 5 minutes. By evening your breathing, you will slow down your heart rate which will help you calm down. The 4-7-8 strategy will also help you with your anxiety.

3. Consider using aromatherapy

Whether it comes in the form of oil, candle, and incense, scents like chamomile, sandalwood, and lavender can be quite calming for you. Aromatherapy will help you activate specific receptors in your brain and it often results in easing anxiety.

4. Go for a walk or do 15 minutes of yoga

Sometimes, one of the best ways to stop an anxiety attack or thoughts is to simply walk away from the situation. By allowing yourself to focus on your body and not your mind, you will be able to relieve the anxiety you are feeling.

5. Write down your thoughts

By writing down what makes you feel anxious, you will be able to get it out of your mind and it can make it less daunting for you. This trick is especially helpful for people who experience anxiety occasionally.

6. Identify and learn to manage your triggers

You can actually identify your triggers without the help of a therapist. Sometimes, they are quite obvious, like drinking coffee or alcohol, or smoking. Other times, the triggers are less obvious. Financial or work-related problems are long-term, hence it might be a bit more difficult for you to figure out what is your exact trigger. In this case, you might need the help of your friends or a therapist.

7. Try supplements or change your entire diet

Changing your diet or taking supplements is a long-term strategy and various research shows specific supplements or nutrients can help you with reducing the anxiety you might feel.


As you can see, there are various ways that you can reduce the anxiety that you might be feeling. Do not forget that talking to your family members, friends, and your therapist is super helpful as well.
