Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s Watch is still the largest force in the smartwatch market as Apple has sold over 7 million devices till date with sales to continue increasing.

The Apple Watch took the world by storm when it was launched on April 24. It generated great buzz and excitement among Apple lovers and tech enthusiasts in general. They were excited to see a name as big as Apple enter the smartwatch market and expected an efficient device from the company.

Sales records show that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has sold almost 7 million Watches since it was launched on April 24. In the last two quarters alone, Apple Watch has sold more devices than all the other vendors’ devices combined. It is also the first vendor to exceed the 300,000 units bar, beating Pebble’s previous high of 200,000 that it reached after three quarters.

With the holiday quarter fast approaching, the sales of Apple Watch are expected to increase rapidly. This expectation is fueled also by the fact that Apple has recently launched WatchOS 2, as well as some new colors for the bands.

WatchOS 2 brings Apple’s native apps to the smartwatch as well as offers new styles and colors. All this will surely boost the demand for Watch further and garner even greater revenues for Apple. Tim Cook himself accredits Apple Watch for a significant increase in the revenue generated by other devices that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) offers to customers.

Cook told:

“Revenue from other products grew strongly up 61% over last year, thanks to the growing contribution from Apple Watch. We expanded Apple Watch distribution significantly over the course of the quarter and it was available at almost 5,000 locations in 32 countries at quarter end.”

Despite refusing to provide sales details, he let it known that revenue from other products increased by 61% last year, which was in great part due to Apple Watch. He went on to say that Apple increased the global availability of Apple Watch, with the smartwatch being available in more than 5,000 locations in over 32 countries by the end of the last quarter.
