Dez Bryant Should Destroy Redskins Defense In Week 2 And Here Is Why

After catching only one ball for 8 yard gain in Week 1 against the New York Giants, there are some questions about Dez Bryant and why he wasn’t treated like a star that he is in this Dallas Cowboys’ offense. It might be him playing bad but it also just might be the fault of Dallas’ head coach Jason Garrett.

Everybody needs to consider the fact that Dak Prescott is still a rookie QB and Cowboys’ did not want to risk going for big plays and huge gains with him possibly making a costly mistake. The result could be disastrous for both team and his confidence. But still, when you have a talent on your squad like Dez Bryant, you need to target him more. Cole Beasley being targeted two times more than Dez did? That’s just not right.

We know Dez Bryant is a warrior of the highest order and that he is always hungry for more, always wanting to win the game for his team and always plays the best to his abilities. He for sure is not satisfied with his Week 1 performance, and he would also like to bounce back from that kind of game.

Well, he will have a great chance to do just that as the Cowboys will be playing against their divisional rival in Week 2, the same team that just got handled by the Steelers and that team are the Washington Redskins. The team that looked so horrible on the defensive side of the ball and that kind of a team is just what the doctor ordered for Dez Bryant and this Cowboys’ offense. They gave up big play after big play to Big Ben, DeAngelo Williams and Antonio Brown and we can expect that the Cowboys will be able to do the same thing to that Redskins’ D.

It’s not only a great opportunity for Dez Bryant to show us again why he is widely considered to be one of the top wideouts in the NFL, but it’s also a great opportunity for rookie running back Ezekiel Elliot to bounce back after that pedestrian Week 1 performance. Just as a reminder, he ran for only 51 yards on more than 20 carries and to be honest he needs to do a lot more than that.

Cowboys’ fans can just hope that coach Garrett will feature his star wideout like he deserves to be treated and target him a lot more than he did in Week 1 against the Giants. If he does that, there is no doubt that Dez Bryant will show up and deliver one of the best performances by Wide Receivers in Week 2 of this young NFL season.
