The base for Nisekoi anime show is the manga with the same name, written by Naoshi Komi. The manga’s English version was published in December 2011. The anime Nisekoi or “False Love” is about a phony relationship. Season 1 was broadcast between January 11 and May 24, 2014. The ratings were pretty good, so the show went on to Season 2 between April 10 and June 26, 2015. It was aired on Tokyo MX, GTV, GYT in Japan. Later it was licensed by Aniplex of America, in order to air it in North America. Now, fans are anticipating Season 3.

It has been speculated a lot about the release of the sequel, some websites even reported that it will be aired in 2016. Nonetheless, no one has officially announced the next season. In total manga has 25 volumes with 229 chapters. That means that there is enough material for it to continue.

The storyline of this anime is about a high school student Raku Ichijo, a son of Shuei-Gumi, a Yakuza boss. Raky is timid and tentative young man. The lead female character is Chitoge Kirisaki, a daughter of the Beehive leader (a rival syndicate). She is a self-assured and powerful young woman. These two people bump into each other at school and soon become friends. However, they realize that they are the children from two opponent gangs and that their friendship is not possible. There is also another lead actress in the show, Kosaki Onodera. She is Raku’s childhood best friend. The series revolves around an intricate love story with a lot of twists, and that gets the viewers excited about the show.

The story isn’t finished yet, and many questions have been left unanswered. That is the most probable reason for at least another installment of this show. In addition to that, there have been a lot of rumors about Season 3 release date, which eventually turned out to be wrong. Sadly, there is no official statement yet, and it seems that the fans have started dealing with the possibility that there will be no continuation.

Nisekoi Season 1 had 20 episodes and received pretty good ratings during its airing. So for that reason, the creators had decided to offer the sequel. Nonetheless, Season 2 had only 12 episodes which were not as good as the ones we saw in the first.

There are a lot of online theories about Season 3 which say that Ichigo will ultimately reveal his feelings for Kirisaki because a lot of fans would like to see a love story between the two characters. Furthermore, other rumors say that Yui-nee will return for the next installment and that her confession will cause a whole new turn to the plot.

In the meantime, the producers still haven’t confirmed canceling Nisekoi Season 3, so fans can still anticipate more from this anime.
