Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney reunited last night at the premiere of the new Beatles’ movie.
A new documentary about their live gigs and fame which they achieved in the 1960s brought together the two surviving members and the stars of Beatles. Many more celebrities appeared last night, including Madonna.
Moreover, Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison, the widows of John Lennon and Gorge Harrison couldn’t miss the premiere in the capital of England. However, for the first time, the movie was screened in Liverpool, the home of the Beatles.
The movie director Ron Howard was awarded the most prestige award in movie industry – an Oscar. The film showed the beginning of the Beatles and their gigs at the Cavern Club as well as their concerts during the tour around America.
Paul McCartney told reporters:” We’re getting great memories obviously of playing with John and George. So that’s very emotional and very special to see that again.”
People from San Francisco had the chance to enjoy the Beatles’ last big concert in 1966. Three years later, they were playing on the rooftop of the Apple Records in London, possibly the most famous live performance by the band.
Ringo Starr said:”People love the Beatles. We happen to be two of them and here we are.”
Olivia Harrison said the Howard couldn’t deliver the story better. In her words:”We were privileged to have Ron Howard making this film, he’s a great storyteller and I think he’s learned a lot too.”
She liked the fact that some of the scenes in the movie come from her husband’s camera.
Both Sir Paul and Star were accompanied by their wives Nancy Shevell and Barbara Bach respectively. Paul’s daughter Stella, a famous fashion designer, was also at the premiere.
