Fans of the famous weapon-based fighting video game series – ‘Soul Calibur‘ have been eager to find out when the next installment is going to come out. Namely, it’s been four years since the last game of the franchise was delivered and all fans would agree that it’s a high time ‘Soul Calibur 6’ to finally came out. Nonetheless, no official statement has been made by the creator of the franchise and fans haven’t come across any important information on the topic. However, this is not the case anymore.
Namely, it’s been 20 years since the first game of the ‘Soulcalibur‘ franchise came out. Therefore, game publisher Bandai Namco posted a trailer for its anniversary. Namco posted a video on Youtube which contains clips from the previous installments of the game series. It is a kind of a reminder of everything players have had an opportunity to enjoy during the last twenty years. What’s more, the end of the video reveals that ‘Soul Calibur 6‘ will be happening.
As far as the way they hinted it would happen, fans probably chose to believe it actually meant that. There was a slogan that read ‘The Legend Will Never Die,’ so it might be that there will be the continuation of the story, with many new features and updates, showing it doesn’t end where it stopped four years ago. Also, there is a link to the anniversary project, but it’s not that worth mentioning since it reveals no details about ‘Soul Calibur 6’.
However, what seemed to fans as a perfect hint of the next installment, might be the completely another thing. It may just be a great way for a closure of ‘Soul Calibur’ after existing for twenty years, a way to celebrate their success and fame. According to Metro, everything in the Project Soul site is in Japanese, hence it would be difficult, if not impossible, to decipher what they said about the sequel if they said anything.
Soul Calibur 6 Release Date
Nonetheless, the 20th Anniversary will be on December 20, and it might as well be the date when the great news about ‘Soul Calibur 6’ will be revealed. Meanwhile, all we can do is guess and keep our fingers crossed for it to happen.
