Tom Brady Thinks Somebody Else Should Be Super Bowl MVP

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots have done what many deemed impossible after they trailed 28-3 in the middle of the third quarter. They came back to tie the game at the end of regulation and then took the ball from the start of the OT right down the field and straight into the end zone. Brady was sensational in the second half and earned himself his fifth Super Bowl title and his fourth Super Bowl MVP.

“I think James White deserves it,” Brady said of the New Englands running back. “It’d be nice for him. It took a real team effort.”

White set the Super Bowl record for receptions as he ended the game with 14 of those. He also finished with 110 yards and a receiving TD. White also had a pair of rushing TDs. Brady was also setting records all night long as he broke the record for most passes, completions, and yards in the Super Bowl. But, he still doesn’t believe that Super Bowl MVP belongs to him.

“White is like my oldest son,” Brady said at Monday’s victory news conference. “He just does everything right and you can never get mad at him because even if the doesn’t make the play, he feels worse about it than you do. He’s just the best teammate. He’s an incredible player. He’s been that way since he really assumed that big role when Dion got hurt last year. I’m so proud of him and everything he’s accomplished. I’ve seen him grow from a rookie to working his tail off to become a big factor in all of these games.”

Even though White didn’t see a lot of snaps in the previous games, Brady clearly wasn’t surprised with White’s performance. Tom had a lot of great words for this running back after the game and White deserves all the praise for what he did in Super Bowl LI.
