We have some sad news to report today. There has been another accident that has caused the wrestling community to lose one of their own. Former wrestling champion and wrestling hall of famer “Luscious” Johnny Valiant has died after being hit by the truck while he was crossing the road.

Actually, according to the report, it was 5:30 AM in the morning and he was trying to cross the road where there was no crossing at Ross Township, a small town near Pittsburgh. You can probably reach Pittsburgh in a couple of minutes if you keep driving in the northwest direction. The driver probably didn’t expect an old man to be there at that time of the night, plus, it was dark so he probably couldn’t see him.

Valiant was 71 years old when he died in a Pennsylvania hospital, Allegheny County medical staff has said. The man that was driving the truck didn’t try to run away and remained at the scene.

During his rich career, he has won the tag team championships as a member of the Valiant Brothers back in 1974 and 1979, while he has also been the manager for Hulk Hogan in the 80s. Back in 1996, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

WWE has released the official statement about this unfortunate event as they are saddened that this has happened. Everybody that knew who this man was and how valuable for wrestling he was in the 70s and the 80s has sent their condolences.

It is interesting that the Policeman who was there at the scene called him the former WWF star and not former WWE star. For all of you who don’t know, the WWF is the original name that Vince had to change back in the early 2000s.
