Jones purchased the Cowboys from H.R. Bright, and the two managed to agree upon almost all terms. However, they had a dispute on who was responsible for an advance Bright made three to four weeks before Jones bought of the team and in order to settle it, they tossed a coin. Jones was the one who lost, and he had to pay what is a substantial sum of money to a majority of people. Bright encased the coin and mounted it on a block then gave it to Jones with the message: “You will never know if this is a two-headed coin.” Even today, Jones is keeping this gift at his home.
