2017 Mercedes E-Class Coupe with very little camo almost ready for Detroit debut!

Recently spy photographers caught a sight of luck when they managed to spot a 2017 Mercedes E-Class Coupe riding around on a trailer wearing a small amount of camo which was very strange. But maybe it really isn’t. Why, you might ask? Well, few sources close to Mercedes provided insight into plans that this company has. Apparently, the all-new E-Class Coupe is supposed to show its new face at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. That is exactly why these prototypes have been seen riding around with very little or in some places no camo at all.

This is probably the best look anyone will have before the official reveal. What Mercedes is attempting with this next-gen midsize coupe is to avoid hardware derived from a previous-gen stretched C-Class and switch it to new underpinnings that are shared with the E-Class Sedan and Estate models. The exterior design is more than admirable, and it kinda resembles both C-Class Coupe and S-Class Coupe, but nevertheless it is going to be a gorgeous midsize coupe with an elegant body. What is probably going to be disappointing, with some people, is the styling that could have offered more differences between these three vehicles.

The heart of the 2017 Mercedes E-Class Coupe is going to be taken from the other two E-Class family members including the famous bi-turbo 3.0-liter V6 with 396 HP and 384 lb-ft of torque from the E43. The cream de la cream of the lot will, of course, be the Mercedes-AMG E63 Coupe that will host chunky bi-turbo 4.0 L V8 churning out as much as 603 HP and 627 lb-ft in the S version that is range top for this lineup. If you remember or at least have heard of the rumors regarding the comeback of the inline six engines, well we have good news for you. Mercedes has confirmed these, but the sad part of it is that they will make their debut in the facelifted S-Class that is due sometime next year. All other vehicles will have to stand in line and wait for these extraordinary engines, but that is OK because the S-Class is company’s flagship after all.

One more thing which is good to know is that the Mercedes E-Class Coupe will, shortly after its North American International Auto Show debut, go on sale. The Convertible version will follow soon after that, and it will also bring more powerful E43 and E63 versions. Mercedes decided that, until all of that happens, it is good for the public to be amused with the high-powered E63 Sedan which will debut in LA later this month. Not a bad call!

I am a very hard-working person who leaves nothing unfinished and halfway done. When I commit to something I give my best to make sure that everything is done the way as it is supposed to be. I like cars and everything that comes with them. My passion are American muscle cars, but unfortunately the closest I managed to come near one is behind my laptop watching an image of the new Chevy or Dodge and writing about it. But that’s ok I’m still optimistic. When I’m not behind the laptop writing I’m on the streets and auto shows admiring all stuff rolling on four wheels being propelled by a petrol engine!
