2019 Range Rover Evoque first spy shots!

As most of you are familiar, the Range Rover Evoque has been around for quite some time, to be more precise, almost six years, which is not negligible. The natural next step for Land Rover is to plan and execute a new iteration of this iconic luxury crossover. Guess what?! That is just what they did, and that is why we have a bunch of spy shots that are revealing some aspects of what’s in store for the second generation that should come as 2019 Range Rover Evoque.

When you take a closer look at the pictures, you can easily notice that the test mule has somewhat wider “hips” than the ongoing version and that is a sure tell that the company is preparing some major hardware changes for it. The black plastic extensions on the wheel arches suggest that the next gen Evoque will have a wider rear track, while the slight increase in ride height indicates that some major differences are being prepared by the company’s engineers.

Thanks to all this it is easily deduced that the wider track and wider “hips” may only mean one thing – more space inside the cabin of the Evoque. The dimensions of the wheelbase doesn’t seem to have changed at all, but the next-gen underpinnings with better arrangement might allow for more room as well, especially for the passengers sitting at the back.

One more thing might interest you, and that is the familiar yellow high voltage sticker glued to the trunk door. The addition of the badge says that this is an electrified Evoque in the making, but some of those who like to jump to conclusions will probably say that this is an EV, at least judging by the lack of exhaust tips that you can clearly see are missing on the pictures. But, thanks to the info from the UK’s Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), we found out (from the plates) that this one is powered by a turbodiesel engine. But do not get sad, Land Rover is indeed preparing a “mild” hybrid powertrain which will combine a three-cylinder diesel with an electrically-powered turbocharger and a 48V electrical system, at least according to a report made by Autocar a few months ago.

2019 Range Rover Evoque Release Date Release Date

Everybody is expecting for the next-gen production Evoque to make use of the JLR’s latest lineup of Ingenium engines, and the likely candidates are the new 2.0 L gasoline unit available with 200 and 250 HP from the XE sedan, and a new 2.0 L turbodiesel rated at 240 HP and 369 lb-ft of torque. These two four-cylinder units will most likely debut in the 2019 Range Rover Evoque probably sometime in the second part of 2018.

My name is Miloš Kalajdžić and I come from Brčko DC in Bosnia. I was born on July 20 th 1988 and so far I obtained a BSc in economics and one year of working experience in my field of study. I am a very hard-working person who leaves nothing unfinished and halfway done. When I commit to something I give my best to make sure that everything is done the way as it is supposed to be. I like cars and everything that comes with them. My passion are American muscle cars, but unfortunately the closest I managed to come near one is behind my laptop watching an image of the new Chevy or Dodge and writing about it. But that’s ok I’m still optimistic. When I’m not behind the laptop writing I’m on the streets and auto shows admiring all stuff rolling on four wheels being propelled by a petrol engine!
