5 ways to turn the Cowboys’ offense much more “Prescott friendly”

3Prescott needs more designed runs for him

We all know that Dak is a smart runner and definitely a good one, plus he is built like a linebacker, which was one of his greatest strengths at Mississippi State. To be perfectly honest, he did appear in some designed runs, and read-option looks in the red zone, but 57 runs in each of his two NFL seasons isn’t going to cut it. Total of eight QB ran the ball more than Prescott last season and some of them were Carolina’s Cam Newton (139) and Kansas City’s Alex Smith (60). Prescott is definitely no near Newton’s average of 8.7 runs per game, but if they managed to bump his average up to, maybe, 3.5 to 4.5 it could open up new plays for the team.
