Packers Survive Lions Huge Comeback Attempt

After Packers took that 31:3 lead at the end of the second quarter, it was all good for the Green Bay. Fans were roaring, Rodgers was shredding the defense of the Lions and victory was on the horizon. Detroit scored a TD to close out that first half, but nobody really cared as that game was almost over. Almost.

Detriot mounted a huge comeback attempt in the second half, and they came close. Made it a 7-point game but just ran out of time as Rodgers and company were able to keep them off the field. A win for the Pack, but not as sweet as it should have been.

Rodgers went 15/24 for 204 yards and 4 TDs with no picks. Most of this came in the first half when he was as dominant as ever. But, after that, it was all downhill for Green Bay. Eddy Lacy had a great game with 17 carries for 104 yards. And Jordy Nelson is back with his first 100-yard game since that knee injury.

Packers’ star wideout and Rodgers’ favorite target was able to catch six balls for 101 yards and two TDs. Big game for him and a great sign for the squad and their offense.

Matthew Stafford had a good game as he went 28/41 for 385 yards and 3 TDs with 1 INT. In the end, it just wasn’t enough for the Lions who are turning out to be much better than most of the people expected.

Packers are now 2-1 to start the season, but it is clear that they need to raise their game to another level if they want to compete at the end of the January for the Lombardi Trophy.
