Bruno Sammartino Dies At Age 82

Yesterday, the wrestling world lost another member, another legend that has helped this sport become what it is now today. WWE and wrestling legend Bruno Sammartino has passed away at age 82. He was the longest reigning WWE champion of all time, one of the biggest attractions that the company has ever had when he was wrestling in the Madison Square Garden.

Everybody that knew him has always known that this man was in top shape. Even though he was in his eighties, there is no doubt that he cared about his health, his body and his well-being. That is why many people were surprised when they learned of his passing. 82 seems just to young for a guy like him.

During his career, everybody knew that he was going to be the main event in Madison Square Garden. All of the fans that were in the building came to watch Bruno defend his belt that he has held longer than anybody else in the history of the company. There are no wrestlers that can say that they were in the main event in MSG 187 times in their career.

Back in 2013, the fans got to celebrate his career when he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger. It was the 188th time, and the last time, that he headlined a sold-out MSG, the most famous arena in the world.

WWE has issued an official statement about the passing of the great Bruno. Multiple wrestling stars and WWE superstars have also sounded off on the social media, talking about what Bruno meant to the company, to the world of wrestling, and how big of an impact he had on their own wrestling journeys.
