Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott Involved in Car Crash

According to sources from Frisco, Texas, Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was involved in a car accident. Due to injuries sustained he missed two days of OTA’s.

The news from Texas claims that the accident was a minor one but that he received a hit in the head. He is doing conditional exercises on his own while waiting for the results of injury tests. After that, he will be allowed to work with the team.

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said that he and the team were made aware of Elliott’s car crash early on Monday morning. The accident happened when fan favorite Zeke was going back from a charity event and the car in which he was driving collided with another vehicle.

In a press conference, Garrett stated the following: “When he came in on Monday he had some body stiffness and some neck stiffness, so we got him checked out. We felt like it was the right thing to do to keep him out. He’s done the dynamic warm-up over the last couple of days, but we kept him out of the practice portion of it.”

Elliott, who was the lead RB in NFL during 2016 Season with 1,631 yards will not train with the team on Thursday. The OTA’s will continue on Tuesday, and that is when coach Jason Garrett expect him to be ready.

Other members of Cowboys coaching staff such as running backs coach Gary Brown and offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said that despite the accident Ezekiel looks just fine. While other members of the squad were training, Elliott was running on the sidelines, and at the end of practice, he just watched 11-on-11 drills.

RB Coach Brown even stated: “He’s fine, he’s good. Everything’s good.”

Despite the fact that coaches were willing to comment the situation, nor Elliot nor his representatives were ready to talk about the incident.

If you remember, this is not the first time that Ezekiel Elliott was involved in a car crash. The first one happened in January right before playoff match against the Green Bay Packers.

While Zeke is absent, Darren McFadden will take first-team snaps.

This season’s OTA started on Monday and will be held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for three straight weeks. The offseason will be concluded with a minicamp in June.
