Dwayne Johnson and Tyrese Gibson in a Feud about Fast & Furious

Dwayne Johnson has protected his decision to act in the Fast & Furious spin-off, which was followed with a mean ranting of his co-star from the franchise Tyrese Gibson.

This famous star mentioned the dispute with Gibson on Friday on his Twitter account, only two days after Gibson published an intense rant about the Rock on his Instagram.

“My goal from day 1 was to come in and create an exciting/fun character for the fans, elevate the franchise and built it out. #HobbsShaw2019,” The Rock posted in his tweet concerning the article of The Hollywood Reported where they wrote about releasing a spin-off in July 2019 with him and Jason Statham.

Gibson laid the blame on Dwayne for setting back the production of the ninth title of the Fast & Furious movie series since it was postponed to April 2024, stating that the hold up was due to the spin-off.

“#PSA Congratulations to @TheRock and your brother in law aka 7 bucks producing partner @hhgarcia41 for making the fast and the furious franchise about YOU,” Gibson wrote. He also added “And like you, DJ even if they call I will not be deleting this post – Gn folks see you in 2024 April #FastFamily right? Nah….. it’s about #TeamDewayne #3yrs will it be worth the wait? #NoShaw just Hobbs will this be another #BayWatch? Guys guys just relax I’m just a passionate film critic.”

Then Vin Diesel got involved in the feud after he apparently sided with Gibson by posting an old picture of the two of them with their deceased co-star Paul Walker on Instagram. He wrote the caption “Brotherhood” after sharing the photo.

Afterwards, he posted a picture of Johnson and him, telling the fans that he didn’t hold the wrestler responsible for the delays in the production. Diesel wrote “Brotherhood… and all it’s complexities,” as the caption of the picture of him with Johnson. He added “I know there has been a lot of speculation as to why the Fast 9 release date was pushed. But it would be unfair to say it is anyone’s fault.”

Brotherhood… and all it’s complexities. This scene was filmed in Puerto Rico, I can remember it like it was yesterday. Such a beautiful island, the people were so warm and welcoming. I turned 43 that summer… and my son Vincent was born. A woman named Jan Kelly responded to a question I had asked on Facebook, ‘who they would like to see me work with?’ She said would love to see me work with Dwayne… I listened to her request and he became Hobbs. I know there has been a lot of speculation as to why the Fast 9 release date was pushed… but it would be unfair to say it is anyone’s fault. As we plot the course to expand the Fast & Furious universe, one must be mindful to take stock of the roads we took to get here. The pillars of authenticity, family and most importantly, our loyal fan’s perspective has been instrumental in procuring success. However, like any vehicle that has run around the globe 8 times, the franchise is in need of maintenance. My good friend and the godfather of Universal, Ron Meyer has granted me the time to do just that. We have some very exciting news to share soon… stay tuned. Yours truly, Dom #FamilyAlways

Johnson became the part of the franchise in Fast Five from 2011, whereas Statham acted in the past two movies, and also had a cameo role in the sixth iteration.
