Google Pixel smartphones are among the most anticipated devices on the market and with that it is understandable that they are also the topic of many rumors. While there are no official images of the Pixel and Pixel XL devices we did receive renderings of what could come.

Everything will be official in few days, on October 4 to be more precise. But, until Google officially introduces their HTC made smartphones we are still being shelled with rumors, and now, renderings of future devices. The big news that came a few weeks ago as a big surprise is that there will be no more Nexus nameplate and that new units will carry Pixel moniker.

Pictures that we have clearly show Pixel devices but we do not know if those are 5 or 5.5-inch units. What we could hear from reports and see on few live images is that both of these models will share their design and we expect them to be only slightly different.

New images show antenna line at the back that is extending from side to side while rear cover comes in both metal and plastic or even glass. The top part is made of either colored glass or plastic while the lower segment brings metal. Some people might not like this, but still, we think that this is a unique feature and something we don’t see that often. Branding “G”, most likely for Google, is on the back cover and the photos also show side buttons for power and volume adjustment.

Unnoficial and preliminary specs for the Google Pixel say that we will be getting a 5.2-inch display with 1920×1080 pixels. Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset in combination with 4 GB of RAM will be powering this Android 7.1 Nougat beast. The internal memory of 32, 64 and 128 GB depending on the version you choose, but without card slot for expansion, will be available. The main camera will carry 12 MP unit that is capable of capturing 2160p at 30 fps, and the front one will have 8 MP sensor with the capability of capturing 1080p video.

Larger Google Pixel XL device will be very similar to its smaller brother. Among the differences, we will have a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1440. Rumors say that same OS, chipset, RAM, and cameras will be used here.
