Jaguar F-Pace SVR Prototype – What lurks under the hood?

The rumor spread out earlier this year that the new supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine from the F-Type R would be intro the F-Pace SVR. The car was tested on the Nürburgring track and the sound of the engine was totally different from the aforementioned one.

Youtuber cvdzijden posted a video on which we can see the completely camouflaged crossover attacking curves at very high speed. If it weren’t for the sound of the engine, we would be sure that this is the Special Vehicle Operation (SVO)-developed F-Pace.

The supercharged 5.0-liter V8 produces 550 hp and it found its way to many Jaguar-Land Rover cars. For example, the Range Rover Sport SVR has this engine, which roars and crackles up and down the re-range, so the moment you hear it, you realize that it is not a common, everyday SUV.

We expected that the unit will be in the F-Type R, but it seems that is not the case. It does sound like a V8 sometimes, but the noise is somewhat purified and subdued.

Considering that there haven’t been any official announcements by Jaguar yet, we will have to be patient if we want to find out what is under the hood. Meanwhile, you can watch the test drive of Jaguar F-Pace SVR Prototype.
