Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) Unveils Faster, Thinner Surface Pro 3 Tablet

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) unveiled its versatile 12-inch Surface Pro 3 tablet, which is lighter and thinner than the 11-inch MacBook Air of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL).

The software giant boasts Surface Pro 3 tablet is the best fit for consumers who want to carry one device and be able to perform their tasks anytime and anywhere.  Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) said Surface Pro 3 can be transformed from a balanced tablet to a full-functioning laptop and vice versa with a simple snap or click.

In a statement, Panos Panay, corporate vice president, Microsoft Surface said, “So many people carry both a laptop and a tablet but really want just one device that serves all purposes. Surface Pro 3 is the tablet that can replace your laptop — packing all the performance of a fully powered laptop into a thin, light and beautifully designed device. You’ll love being able to carry a single device for your next class, workday or weekend getaway knowing you have all the power you need.”

During the launching event in New York, Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) said, “We are not building hardware for hardware’s sake. We want to build experiences that bring together all the capabilities of our company.”

The Surface Pro 3 tablet is integrated with a 12-inch ClearType Full HD display, powered by Windows 8.1 operating systems and 4th generation Intel Core Processor, which means it runs faster than the previous Surface Pro models. The hybrid tablet laptop offers up to 8 GB RAM and 9 hours of web-browsing battery life.

The Surface Pro 3 comes with a continuous kickstand that provides the screen with a real estate and multiple viewing angles, a completely redesigned Surface Pen that delivers a precise, luxurious drawing and note taking experience, and an improved Surface Pro Type Cover. The hybrid tablet laptop is also equipped with a USB 3.0 port, microSD card reader, and Mini DisplayPort adapter that allow users to transfer files faster and easily connect to a variety of machines.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is offering Surface Pro 3 in multiple configurations powered by 4th generation Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors. Its starting retail price is $799 up to $1,949.  The software giant will start to accept pre-orders on Wednesday, May 21.
