Skyscraper – Details revealed by Dwayne Johnson & Release Date

In May last year it was announced that a new action-thriller entitled Skyscraper would be delivered sometime in the future and now we have release date set. Namely, a movie starring Dwayne Johnson will be released on June 13, 2018. This date means that the film will be put up against Paramount’s animated comedy Amusement Park, Warner Bros.’ horror spin-off The Nun and Sony’s animated sequel Hotel Transylvania 3. Legendary and Universal have also provided us with the first plot details, whereas Dwayne Johnson used social media to talk about his latest project.

As we have mentioned, Johnson leads the cast of Legendary’s Skyscraper as Will Ford, who is a former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U. S. war veteran. As he is a wanted man, Will must search for the one who did this to him and try to clear his name, as well as rescue his family who is trapped in the tallest building in China which caught fire.

Rawson Marshall Thurber, who also directed “We’re the Millers,” wrote the script and directed this movie and Beau Flynn, who produced “Baywatch” and “San Andreas” is its producer. Hiram Garcia, executive producer of “San Andreas” and “Central Intelligence” and Dany Garcia, executive producer of “Baywatch” and “Ballers,” are also executive producers of Skyscraper. Wendy Jacobson is Co-producer. Rawson Marshall Thurber and Dwayne Johnson are reunited in this movie after working together on last year’s comedy “Central Intelligence.” The film will be released by Universal Pictures.

We can say that Johnson’s career is boosting since he has three movies coming out this year and at least two coming out next year. Next month we’ll watch him as Luke Hobs in “The Fate of the Furious” arriving April 14. The end of the year is set for Jumanji, which will be released on December 22. When it comes to the next year, Rampage is set for release on April 20, 2018, and Skyscraper on July 13, 2018.
