New Wet Hot American Summer Trailer!

Fans of the Wet Hot American Summer rejoice! Netflix was kind enough to send us all back to camp this August! Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later is TV Series based on the 2001 film that had its setting in Camp Firewood. This is the second original Netflix series! Almost 14 years later we will have a chance to see the reunion of the cast of which some became A-listers following the 2015 prequel series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp.

Having watched the trailer of Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later we concluded that the show will be a bit closer to reality this time however it is still going to be a bit of a stretch since the show still is in its Wet Hot form.

Just like we expected this trailer contains a montage of ridiculous bacchanalian bounty. The cast has changed a lot, to be honest, considering that it all started in 1981. It is the year 1991 in the show, and the nineties were a period of transformation and transition. New pop culture is mixing with the leftovers from the eighties. Taking into account that a whole decade has passed our gang is, therefore, ten years older and they are coming back to camp as young adults. As you may predict the old school generation is back to show how it’s done to youngbloods that occupy the camp now!

Numerous events are shown in the trailer, we had a chance to see quite a few campers going from Lindsey who became the host of a talk show called Puff Stuff, Andy who is still a rebel, Gene who became a resident of a trailer park and Gail, the daughter of Molly Shannon who behaves quite similar to Gene. Both mentally and fashion-wise. Last but not least we saw Victor who became a stripper. Awesome right?

The storyline is based on a gag that was born as an idea coming from the original 1981 cast. It shows campers reunited ten years later on those same grounds. This trailer even plays Jefferson Starship’s 1979 hit ‘Jane’ which is also played during the sequence at hand.

Here we have the cast of the upcoming season: Amy Poehler, Beth Dover, Chris Meloni, Chris Pine, David Hyde Pierce, David Wain, Elizabeth Banks, Eric Nenninger, H. Jon Benjamin, Janeane Garofalo, Jason Schwartzman, Joe Lo Truglio. They will be joined by John Early, Josh Charles, Ken Marino, Kristen Wiig, Lake Bell, Marguerite Moreau, Marisa Ryan, Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter, A.D. Miles, Molly Shannon, Nina Hellman, Paul Rudd, Rich Sommer, Sarah Burns and Zak Orth.

Not only did the producers succeed at getting the old gang back together but they also threw in some fresh faces such as Samm Levine, Mark Feuerstein, Marlo Thomas, Joey Bragg, Jai Courtney, Dax Shepard, Skyler Gisondo, Alyssa Milano and Adam Scott.

The crew behind the show consists of David Wain and Showalter which are the founders of the franchise. They will write eight new episodes with Wain being behind the camera.
