As you can see from the headline, this is the second time that 5th gen Honda CR-V has been spotted testing and this time where else than in China. Still wearing a huge amount of camouflage as it tries to hide its lines and nature but does not succeed completely.

This time, it showed us that the most aesthetics had been taken from the 10th gen Honda Civic. As you can see from the images, it hosts a single thick grill that holds new and restyled LED headlights. Rear lights are reshaped and restyled and now have a reverse L shape, beneath them is an updated rear end with the new bumper that now proudly hosts dual chromed exhaust tips. Furthermore, we can see that the license plate indentation has been repositioned which now makes the back of the vehicle look a lot cleaner.

The layout of the 2017 Honda CR-V might be offered with seven seat setup in some markets like India where it will certainly be broadly accepted. This will result in a slightly longer vehicle with additional room inside, not that the previous models needed it. This 5th gen CR-V is supposed to take Honda’s Premium Product place and battle companies and their models like Volvo’s XC60, Land Rover’s Discovery Sport SUV.

Engine options that are supposed to power the new Honda CR-V, although unverified yet, are two petrol engines 1.5-liter VTEC and turbo powered 2.0 L VTEC. The diesel option should come also, and best guess here is that the 1.6 L i-DTEC could be offered. Transmission options are unknown for now, but its speculated that it is also going to be borrowed from Honda Civic meaning that the 2017 Honda CR-V might get the CVT. Power will be delivered to the front wheels as standard with AWD as an option once again.

The release date is thought to be sometime in the first quarter of 2017, and it could hit the Indian markets in the second half of the same year. Price is yet unknown, but it is predicted that it should go up slightly above ongoing model’s $25,000.
