The 2018 Ford Mustang has been presented earlier in 2017, but at that point we didn’t know too much about the car. Now, several pre-production prototypes have been spotted in Austin, Texas at a photo shoot. The images have been taken by a Mustang6G user, and there is one major difference – redline of the Mustang GT have moved from 7,000 rpm to 7,500 rpm.

Ford refused to talk about specifications, but it is official that the Mustang GT will sport a 5.0-liter V8 engine which “has been thoroughly reworked.” The unit comes with dual-fuel, high-pressure direct injection, but there is also low-pressure port fuel injection.

The American carmaker was also unwilling to discuss performance figures, but the aforementioned engine is supposed to produce extra 10 hp and 13 lb-ft of torque due to “advanced dual port and direct-injection technology.”

The F-150 may or may not give us any indication of what to expect, but it is certain that the 2018 Ford Mustang GT will be more powerful than the previous model that delivers 435 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque when premium fuel is used.

The refreshed Mustang is expected to hit the market in the fall this year, and it will bring a lot of innovations. Some of the new details include the upgraded front fascia, a 10-speed automatic transmission and a 12-inch digital instrument cluster in the cabin.

Here, you can see some photos of the new Mustang GT and the latest image of the interior with a clearly visible steering wheel and instrument cluster. We cannot wait for the 2018 Ford Mustang to go on sale.
