2019 Lexus RX Spy Photos, RX L Three-Row Crossover Comes Later In the Year

Lexus is currently busy updating its top-selling model called the RX. The refreshed version will hit the market sometime next year as a 2019 model year. The company will also release the stretched RX L with three-row seating arrangement available for seven passengers together with the improved RX.

The ongoing generation of RX arrived at the market last year, so we expect the new model to be basically the same with some minor tweaks. The spied version had a tiny bit of cover gear on the taillights, which means that Lexus decided to change something in this area.

We couldn’t think of anything else Lexus may introduce or change to improve the relatively new vehicle. One of the possibilities is to add to the RX 350 and RX 450h options which are already available. The best chances are for Lexus to introduce the RX 300, which features the same 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 engine that powers the NX 300. This unit would produce 235 horsepower in the new model.

The ongoing RX 350 comes with a 3.5-liter V6 unit which is good for 300 horsepower, whereas the current RX 450h packs the V6-based hybrid setup that delivers 308 ponies. We are still patiently waiting for the confirmation, but Lexus will most likely introduce the new, better RX in three-row RX L trim later in the year. Speaking of that model, Tokyo Auto Show which starts on October 25 might be the right place for the presentation of the new car.

We are only wondering why Lexus didn’t introduce a three-row crossover earlier. The RX is the brand’s most popular model, while the three-row vehicles are on demand. Still, we are excited for both the RX and the RX L.
