Atlanta Falcons vs. Oakland Raiders Week Two Predictions

Week two of the 2016 NFL season brings many entertaining matches, and one of the best certainly is the game between Atlanta Falcons and Oakland Riders. Atlanta is making a trip across the entire country to pay a visit to sunny California and the Raiders.

Week one brought matches with a decent number of points for both teams. Nothing less is expected in their clash. Raiders recorded a thrilling win against Saints in memorable fashion winning the game by one point after two-point conversion. The final result was 35-34. Falcons lost to the Buccaneers by one touchdown 31:24.

After not so good start Falcons will try to record a win in Oakland, but things may not be as easy to them as they would like. Raiders are no longer one of the worst teams in the league but genuine playoff contenders.

Atlanta Falcons vs Oakland Raiders – Who will win?

One of the main advantages in Raiders favor is their quarterback Derek Carr. He had 319 passing yards, and one touchdown to his name against the Saints. With quality in his offensive line, and against not so good Atlanta secondary, Carr is in for another good game. We are saying another 300+ yards wit the minimum of two touchdowns. Atlanta Falcons QB, on the other hand, could be in for a rough ride.

His teammates allowed him to be sacked three times against Tampa Bay. With Raiders defense being on the pair or even better than one of the Buccaneers, Ryan could be put under serious pressure during the entire game. He is a QB, and they are used to things like this, but he is also a human so it will be interesting to see how will he cope with this.

It’s only fair to mention Bruce Irvin, who had an outstanding game against Saints with three times sacking of Drew Brees. With him and Khalil Mack on the Oakland secondary, Falcons offensive line will be penetrated in waves.

Falcons are not among league’s elite, so they are not expected to perform well on the road. While they are positive to score points against Oakland’s defense which conceded 34 against Saints, we just don’t see them as winners of this tie. After all Matt Ryan sure is not on pair with Drew Brees.
On the other side, we have Oakland Riders, playing in front of the home crowd, with the best team they had in years.

Our pick: Oakland Riders.
