Big Misunderstanding About Lesnar vs. Reigns Finish In Saudi Arabia

The main event of the Wrestlemania 33 was still unknown before the show took place last year, but we already had rumors about which match is going to be in the main event slot of Wrestlemania 34 in New Orleans. Vince knew that he wanted Roman to challenge Lesnar for that Universal Championship. Brock has been saving that title for the Roman Empire. Or, at least we thought that.

The first big shock happened in New Orleans. Just when everyone was calling for Reigns to take the belt of the Beast Incarnate, WWE decided to book Lesnar retaining the Universal Championship at the grandest stage of them all. He pinned Roman and won the battle at Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Then, WWE announced that the leader of the Roman Empire is going to get another opportunity at the belt in Saudi Arabia, at the Greatest Royal Rumble show. After we learned that, the loss at Mania for Reigns made a bit more sense.

Well, at least it did before GRR took place in Saudi Arabia. There, we have seen another surprise as Reigns speared Lesnar through the cage, but the match ended with Lesnar winning that way, which is, of course, going to continue this storyline.

What caused a lot of misunderstanding backstage is the fact that the marketing team already made a lot of stuff with Roman’s name as the champion.

They were told that he was going to win the belt in this match, so everything was made for that moment.

The whole backstage got worked again as Vince, and the higher-ups switched the ending of this battle yet again. According to the reports, a lot of people didn’t like this move by Vince, which is creating an unhealthy working environment.
