Black Butler (Kuroshitsuji) is a 3-season anime adaption by A-1 Pictures studio. It was first aired back on October 3, 2008, and it was released on Mainichi Broadcasting System station and afterward on CBC, TBS, TBC and the other Japanese networks. At the helm of the project is Toshiya Shinohara as the director while Hiroko Takahashi took over as a producer.

On March 29, 2010, two years after the series debut, it was delivered to the U.S. by Funimation Entertainment, which licensed it for North America. From July 2 till September 17, 2010, the series had its second season “Black Butler: Book of Circus” on air. The third season was announced on January 16, 2014, and it was called “Black Butler: Book of Murder.” It started with its premiere on October 25, 2014, while its second part aired from November 15, 2014.

The series is also aired in Australia, by Madman Entertainment, in the United Kingdom by Manga Entertainment, as well as in Southeastern Asia by Animax Asia.

The storyline revolves around Earl Ciel Phantomhive who belongs to an aristocratic family known as Queen’s Guarddog. His task implies keeping Her Majesty safe. However, he has had a really traumatic and unhappy childhood, as he was kidnapped and had his parents killed. Many years later he managed to come back to the property of his family’s mansion together with Sebastian Michaelis. These two are now aiming to find out the truth and seeking revenge against all of those who ruined his life. However, it turns out that Sebastian is actually a demon who wants Ciel’s soul.
