BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) has been going through a financial crisis for some time now, and their efforts for turnaround seem to be paying off, though not very much. The company introduced the black color model of their flagship device Passport last month and at the launch event they announced another device – the BlackBerry Classic.

Passport unique, Classic tried and tested

BlackBerry Passport released last month has a different shape. It is a square device, which is 3.5-inch wide and 5-inch in height. Since, it has a wide-screen; the company launched it with the slogan of ‘work wide.’ The device is a full touch device and has a common area for scrolling and typing as well. The keypad doubles as a trackpad.

Classic is similar as the old BlackBerry devices with no unique shape, and is not at all similar to the Passport. Classic is also a touch screen device, but has real keys in the QWERTY keypad, which has been the trademark of BlackBerry devices.

Comparison between two BlackBerry devices

Of the two BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) devices, Passport boasts of superior pixel density and screen resolution when compared to Classic. It has an amazing 1440x1440p resolution along with a pixel density of 453ppi. Classic, on the other hand, has an impressive 720x720p display with 291ppi pixel density. Passport has a RAM of 3GB while Classic has a RAM of 2GB.

Camera of Passport is also awesome as it has a resolution of 4128×3096 pixels. The 13 MP camera is better than few low end DSLR even. The device comes with flash and geo tagging features. The device comes with a powerful giant battery of 3450mAh. The details about camera and battery of Classic are still not known.

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) wants to try its hands at the future of technology with the Classic device. The company has performed miserably over the past few years, and lost all the glitz and glory that the BlackBerry brand used to enjoy. The company has not lost hope as yet and is working towards reviving the brand. The company already has a lot of loyal customer, and hopes that the new devices Classic and Passport will help the company to stage a turnaround.
