BMW i8 Protonic Frozen Yellow Edition Looks So Cool

Shanghai Auto Show is getting closer, and while our eyes have been focused on the Big Apple, BMW displayed the i8 Protonic Frozen Yellow Edition. This is the latest vehicle in a long range of special edition cars, and it really looks cool.

For starters, the BMW i8 Protonic Frozen Yellow Edition has been painted in the matte yellow color which truly draws your attention, but there are also details done in Frozen Gray metallic for contrast. This special edition will sit on the new set of 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels that look stunning and are adding to the unique look of this vehicle.

The interior of the yellow i8 is carried over from the regular model almost in its entirety, but if you take a very close look, you can see yellow contrast stitching, an anthracite-colored headliner and special floor mats. In addition, gray seatbelts, specially designed sill plates and ceramic accents on the gear selector make this cabin different from the one on the standard BMW i8. Oh and we almost forgot the iDrive controller.

The BMW i8 Protonic Frozen Yellow Edition is equipped with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that is combined with a small electric motor, just like it is the case in the standard i8. The complete output of the car is 357 horses and 420 lb-ft of torque, while the special edition can go from 0 to 60 mph in only 4.2 seconds. The top speed of this car is limited to 155 mph.

You can purchase the BMW i8 Protonic Frozen Yellow Edition from September this year. The pricing details remain unknown for now but stay tuned to find that out as well. What do you think about this BMW’s iteration of the i8?
