Breaking: John Cena’s Role At Survivor Series Revealed!

There were reports that WWE wants to add a big name to be the special guest referee in the match between the Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and the WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. Those rumors have gone quiet over the past couple of days, and now they will be completely dead since AJ Styles just won the WWE Championship, earning himself a shot at the Beast Incarnate.

John Cena was one of those guys that were rumored to be involved with the match. He was the number one candidate to be the special guest referee. Now, since AJ Styles is going to fight Lensar, WWE doesn’t need the referee to be a big name in order to elevate Jinder Mahal and this battle. He is not going to be in the match.

Since Styles is in the Champion vs. Champion match, he left one spot open on the 5v5 Smackdown Live team. Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura and Bobby Roode were left hanging because of Styles victory over the Modern Day Maharaja.

Thankfully, John Cena is coming to the rescue and will be the final fifth member of the team. He is actually going to be in a wrestling role, and we can likely expect him to show up next week during the go-home edition of the Smackdown Live.

His last appearances were for the Monday Night Raw, and his previous match was against Reigns at No Mercy. So how is he now on Smackdown Live?

Well, he announced that he is a free agent making him able to appear on both shows. But, since this is a brand war, it’s a bit strange for Cena to fight on somebody’s side as he actually doesn’t belong to anybody. However, it is clear why WWE made this move. He is a big name, and there was one spot open. Cena is a draw, and that is why he is going to be on the show.
