Brice Butler Coming Back To Dallas

It looks like that there is a chance for Brice Butler to return to Dallas as it has been confirmed that the team has been in contact with their former wide receiver. It has been reported that America’s Team could be interested in bringing back Butler and even Jason Garrett talked about this.

After the first win of the season that Cowboys recorded against New York Giants, the head coach was asked about the situation. Here is what he said: “Yeah, we have talked to Brice and we’ll see what his availability is as we go forward, if we want to make that decision to bring him back to our team.”

At the moment there are no injured wide receivers that could be replaced by Butler, so this would be a somewhat strange move by the Dallas head office. Garrett also added that there are no plans for the release of one or more of their receivers that are currently on the roster to make room for any additions. This goes in both cases if they do or don’t add Brice to the squad.

Garrett said that the main goal is to be deeper at the position and that if he is available, they would want to bring him in. He continued by saying: “He’s done some good things for us and again we’ll make that decision in the next day or so.”

While it might be a bit unusual for a team to have seven receivers, it wouldn’t be the first time to see something like that in NFL. Butler was a part of the team for three years, and in that time he completed 43 passes and earned 794 yards, meaning that he had an average of 19 yards per catch. Garrett concluded by saying: “We wanted to keep him last year when he signed in Arizona. But now he’s available and you’re always trying to look for ways to improve your team.”
