It has been officially announced that Dwayne Johnson is on board for the new Disney’s live-action adaptation of the Jungle Cruise. The production of this film is going to start in Spring 2018, and we are glad to see Dwayne Johnson finding some room in his busy schedule.

However, the highest-paid actor is also going to be a producer of this project alongside the co-CEO of the Seven Buck Productions Dany Garcia. She is also involved with the projects such as Jumanji, Ballers and Baywatch, where we can watch The Rock as well.

According to the rumors, Beau Flynn, who has worked together with the Hollywood star on San Andreas movie, is currently in negotiations, so he might as well produce Jungle Cruise via his Flynn Picture Co. Jungle Cruise is one of the most popular Disney’s rides as it takes you on exciting trips such as through Africa’s Nile, South America’s Amazon and Congo rivers and rainforest.

The Rock has been attached to this project since 2015, but Jungle Cruise is still in early development, and there are several drafts sketched by several different writers like J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. Now, it appears that the script took a more concrete look, which is enough for Johnson to get on board.

The former WWE star will start with the shooting of the video game adaptation called Rampage this spring, after which he will go to China in late summer to work on an adventure named Skyscraper. Jumanji is his next stop as the film is expected to be premiered in December and if he doesn’t include something else in his schedule, Johnson should be ready for Jungle Cruise.

The team is currently looking for a director of the new movie, while the other producers that will help bring this project to life are John Davis and John Fox of Davis Entertainment.
