Frankfurt Motor Show 2017 – What To Expect?

Every year, we can see interesting vehicles at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and this year we don’t expect it to be any different. Besides Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Frankfurt Motor show is the first major event after Geneva Motor Show in March. It starts on the September 12th for the press and on September 14th for the public.

We expect to see models presented by Audi, Jaguar, BMW, Renault, and VW, while some of the big carmakers such as FCA, Peugeot and Nissan will not participate this year. The Frankfurt Motor Show 2017 is dominated by domestic automakers and here is the A-Z list of the ones that will unveil their models.

Audi – A8, RS4 Avant

Audi will present two vehicles in Frankfurt this year, and the one we cannot wait to see is the new A8 luxury limo that comes with a wide array of tech and autonomous features. According to the rumors, the German company should also show its RS4 Avant for the first time.

BMW – 6 Series Gran Turismo, i8 Spyder, X7, X3, M5

BMW is another domestic carmaker that will display its cars in Frankfurt. We expect to see the new 6 Series Gran Turismo as well as the production version of the modern i8 Spyder hybrid sports car. Furthermore, the BMW fans will see the concept variant of the seven-seat X7 luxury SUV while the new X3 will be on the podium as well. After a long campaign where the manufacturer showed teasers, the M5 super sedan will debut in Frankfurt.

Dacia – Duster

Dacia will come to Germany to unveil the new Duster SUV which will replace the ongoing model. The details about the new vehicle are scarce, but the 2018 Duster should come with an evolutionary design and five seats.

Hyundai – i30 N, Kona

Finally, we are going to see the long-anticipated i30 N performance model. We are so excited that Hyundai decided to unveil it in Frankfurt, but next to this car, we also expect the new Kona, a small SUV, on the podium.

Jaguar – E-Pace

Jaguar will bring its hot E-Pace model to the large city in Germany, and this baby brother of the massive F-Pace will be unveiled there for the first time. Once it goes on sale, the E-Pace will go against the BMW X1, Audi Q3, and the Range Rover Evoque.

Kia – Stonic

The Korean carmaker that has developed the new Stinger model decided to debut the new Stonic at the motor show in Frankfurt. This small SUV will compete against the Hyundai’s Kona, SEAT Arona, and the new Nissan Juke.

Mercedes – Project One Hypercar, G-Class, Mercedes-AMG GT Four-Door Concept

Mercedes still hasn’t confirmed any of the vehicles mentioned above, but we will definitely see the German carmaker in Frankfurt. The next-generation G-Class is the most certain of them all, but the brand wants to pull the covers of the long-awaited Formula 1-engined hypercar that will produce 1,000 bhp.

Renault – Megane RS

Renault will bring its tweaked performance oriented Megane after a very long teaser campaign. The new model will come with 300 bhp and a four-wheel steering that has been confirmed. We cannot wait to see full specs of this model.

SEAT – Arona

The SEAT Arona has already been seen, and it will rival the Citroen C3 Aircross, Hyundai Kona, and Kia Stonic. Frankfurt is the place where Arona will make a public debut, and it will slot between the Ateca and the unnamed seven-seater.

Subaru – Impreza

We had had a chance to see the latest Impreza in New York in 2016 when the Subaru heads were skeptic about the European market. Now, the Impreza will be launched in Europe and Frankfurt is the debut spot for this vehicle.

Vauxhall/Opel – Grandland X

Vauxhall has prepared the Grandland X to combat SEAT Ateca and the VW Tiguan, but the new car is going to wear Opel badges in Frankfurt. Even though the prices and specs have been officially revealed, this is the first time when we will see the Grandland X in metal.

Volkswagen – Polo, Polo GTI

The production model of the sixth-generation Polo will debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The new car will be based on the MQB A0 platform which will increase the size of the vehicle, resulting in more space inside. VW will also bring the Polo GTI rated at 197 bhp.
