Leading Parisian fashion store, Collete, is all dressed up to host Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iWatch for a day long display event. The store’s website invites its customers to come and join the fawning crowds at its iconic Paris store on Rue Saint-Honoré.
The device will be available on display between 11 AM and 7 PM local time. Many photos showcasing the preparations going on for the display have surfaced on Instagram and show the iWatch displayed among colorful spheroid objects.
iWatch marketed as a luxury item
This move hints that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is planning to promote its iWatch as more of a fashion statement than a high end gadget. The Edition Collection version of the iWatch, which comes with an 18 karat gold watch case, sapphire crystal display and colorful watch buckles, stands to further reiterate the fact. The September event during which Apple launched the iWatch also saw many faces from the fashion press.
iWatch specs still under speculation
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) confirmed that the iWatch, with prices starting from $349, is expected to be available for sale from early 2015. But rumors, stating that fans might have to wait at least till February 2015 before getting their hands on the device, have surfaced. The delay is attributed to software development issues that have cropped up in the last minute.
Members of press who had a chance to explore the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iWatch during its launch said that none of the devices were running the expected Watch OS operating system. They also added that the devices only showed screenshots of functions rather than the actual functions. While functional units were available, reporters were not allowed to try them out but were given a demo by Apple employees. Apple has also remained curiously silent about the iWatch’s battery life.
