Jim Parsons Reveals Details about The Big Bang Theory Spin-Off

CBS is currently working on “The Big Bang Theory” spinoff series which will be titled “Sheldon.” Jim Parsons was at the 2017 Screen Actors Guild Awards, and he revealed some details about the upcoming TV Show and one of the most intriguing questions for the audience – who will play the 12-year-old Sheldon Cooper in the spin-off?

According to Entertainment Tonight, Parsons refused to talk about everything and provide some spoilers, but he did give us a hint at least. They asked him if the actor for the lead role had been chosen already and he only replied that “they’re supposed to release it,” but he did not want to share this piece of information. Well, at least for now. However, he couldn’t help but praise the mysterious actor: “He’s wonderful. So many kids sent in [tapes] and it was really overwhelming. But this one little guy was really special.”

Furthermore, he added: “Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro are really heading it but they’re always really sweet about asking, ‘What would you think?’ and I’m like, ‘I think it’s great. […] I kind of don’t want to get in the way too much because whoever the kids is has to do his own thing. You know what I mean? If it’s going to be special it has to be related to what’s going on but also it’s own creature, you know? I’m excited about it though.” Finally, he offered a piece of advice for the young actor who will play Sheldon in the series: “I would advise that actor to watch me as little as possible, and take that thing by the horns, and make it your own.”

Jim Parsons is also working on his own new project, “Jim Parsons Is Too Stupid for Politics,” his SiriusXM radio show.
