Messi puts Barca to handicap after his injury

If you have seen the Wednesday night game, then you know that Barca finished draw (1-1) against Atletico Madrid at home stadium, and Lionel Messi unfortunetly got injured (groin problems again).

Some predict that the future games might be in jeopardy since star player will be out for around three weeks. Manager Luis Enrique ensured everybody that this is not the first time that this is happening, and that Barcelona managed to keep their game level before and will keep doing it for these three weeks while Messi is recovering.

As you may recall Messi struggled with this injury since the beginning of the second half and finally fell to the ground in minute 59 and was replaced by Arda Turan. Barcelona had the lead since minute 41 thanks to Rakitic but right after Messi stepped off the pitch, Atletico Madrid got its equalizer thanks to Angel Correa.

Messi fans probably know that he already had problems with his groins, and many were concerned that the groin problem could come back again. Shorty after the match, Barcelona PR told the press that this time its high the right leg that is problematic, not his left. Some of you might argue that Messi probably came back way too early to the pitch from his last injury, and hope that this time, it won’t be the case. We hope that he will recover to the fullest and that these problems won’t occur again.

Barca fans have a few more worries, and those are the three away games against Sporting Gijon, Borussia Monchengladbach and Celta Vigo that are up before the October’s break. Messi will miss all of those due to this injury and fans are wondering if Barca can keep it together until he returns. One more thing that is not helping the overall situation is Sergio Busquets who left the match against Atletico Madrid in minute 50 because of the flue. Apparently, he tried to play the game to the end but since he was struggling with the illness before the match up he lost all of his energy by the half time and couldn’t continue.

We wish him all the best and hope he will return soon! As well as to you Messi!
