Deadpool 2 – Five Things We Could Expect

The original Deadpool was directed by Tim Miller, and it managed to achieve enormous success. The die-hard comic-book fans would go to see the movie anyway, but some people also became a fan of Deadpool although they perhaps hadn’t known the story that well. Ryan Reynolds was obviously the right guy for the part, and the movie was filled with ironic jokes and funny moments.

It is still early for Deadpool 2, but there is no doubt that it is going to hit the theaters at some point in the future, what do we expect from the sequel? It will be hard for the next iteration to be as good as the first film and here are five things that the fans would love to see in Deadpool 2.

Morena Baccarin

One of the probably underrated aspects of Deadpool was the relationship between Wade Wilson and Vanessa Carlysle, who was played by luscious Morena Baccarin. She was an important part of the story because her character matched Wilson’s drollery and sarcasm and it would be great if she returned to the second iteration.

Considering that some of the female superheroes will be in focus in the upcoming Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman, Baccarin could get more screentime in Deadpool 2 and thus show all the positive and negative traits of her character. We might see the comic book superhero alter ego, the mutant Copycat. With her shifting between shapes, we could watch Deadpool’s confusion and a mistaken identity is usually a great tool used in comedies.

Deadpool 2 Movie Budget

Deadpool was partly successful because of a small budget, and they used their money wisely. Movie’s cheap production value contributed to the scruffiness of the film, but the story could be different with Deadpool 2.

Now, the budget has significantly grown, but hopefully, the producers will resist the temptation to create a bigger and more explosive movie than the original. According to producer Simon Kinberg, the goal is “to not make it bigger.” The only thing they need to do is stay true to the tenets of Deadpool, and another terrific title is what the fans will get.

Did you know that in the first movie, the real reason why a huge gunfight was not finished was the fact that they lacked money for the other scenes, so they needed to save it? Well, that is about to change, and we will probably see a huge gunfight or two in the sequel. The other reason why Deadpool was a success was because it carried the label of the R-rated film and it has become the highest-grossing R-rated title of all time.

In the original, Wade Wilson’s offensive jokes became his trademark, and the whole project is so unique that it might be hard for someone to guess that it is a Marvel’s creation after all. It assured us numerous times that it was produced for adults especially because there are a lot of curses, bloodshed and people could really enjoy this movie. Hopefully, this trend will continue.

Biting Script

Deadpool contains typical postmodern elements in it and the irrelevant humor used by the protagonist was just on point. Wilson constantly addressed the audience and he was well-aware that he was from a comic book and he didn’t need a green CGI superhero costume. This is something that we will definitely see in Deadpool 2, but what would be really cool is if the protagonist was to tear into X-Men Origins: Wolverine’s version of his character.

Starting this week, we can see Reynolds in a humorous short film that teases Deadpool 2. The bit is called “No Good Deed, ” and it is in cinemas ahead of Logan premiere. To cut a long story short, we would like to see Hugh Jackman cameo with Deadpool in the sequel.

There are so many rumors and speculation that Cable, Deadpool’s friend, and the enemy, will appear in the next iteration, but since nothing has been confirmed so far, these remain just rumors. If you are a comic book fan, you should know that Deadpool has had so many bromances, but this one with Cable, who is a mutant soldier that travels through time and has mind powers, is the best one.

Cable’s real name is Nathan Summers, and he is the son of Cyclops and Jean Grey, and if you want to know more about him, you would have to read the comics. We will only tell you that The Merc with a Mouth and Cable became friends after our favorite character was hired to assassinate Cable. There was even a comic called Deadpool and Cable which was delivered from 2004 and 2008 and hopefully, we are going to see this dynamic duo in Deadpool 2.
