Jerry Jones Believes Romo Is One Of The Greatest Cowboys Ever

The Dallas Cowboys have finally let go of Tony Romo on Tuesday. He is heading to the CBS Network as the lead analyst. With the retirement of Romo, a lot of people are reflecting back at his career and what he has been doing for 14 years in the NFL. Team owner Jerry Jones also made a statement about Tony, a guy that he always really liked and a player with whom he had a special kind of relationship.

“We wish Tony and his family nothing but the best,” Jerry Jones began his statement. “As an organization, we did what he asked us to do in terms of his release, and we wanted to do what was ultimately in his best interest and in the best interest of his family.”

That right there shows just how loved Tony Romo was in Dallas. At the end of the day, Jones wanted him to succeed and wanted to do whatever he can in order to do good things for Tony Romo. He has given a lot of years to this franchise, and the owner of the ‘Boys appreciates that.

“Tony has been a wonderful representative of the Cowboys organization for 14 years, and he left everything he had on the field. He will leave us with many great memories and a legacy of being, truly, one of the greatest players in Cowboys history. We are thrilled for him and his family that he will be able to continue working as a professional in the game he so dearly loves. He is a young man who is just getting started on a long journey in life. All the best my friend,” Jones stated with the utmost respect for his long-time friend and quarterback.
