Orange is the New Black season 5 release date: News and Updates

Netflix had a difficult weekend after the first ten episodes of Orange Is The New Black Season 5 went into public, most likely illegally. There are still no reports who stands behind this leak.

The Dark Overlord represent hackers group who posted these episodes as Netflix apparently didn’t want to pay a certain sum of money in order to keep the new season from coming out.

The message this group of hackers had for Netflix was:

“It didn’t have to be this way, Netflix. You’re going to lose a lot more money in all of this than what our modest offer was.

“We’re quite ashamed to breathe the same air as you. We figured a pragmatic business such as yourselves would see and understand the benefits of cooperating with a reasonable and merciful entity like ourselves.”

In their response, Netflix stated:

“We are aware of the situation. A production vendor used by several major TV studios had its security compromised and the appropriate law enforcement authorities are involved.”

The next installment, Season 5, was to be released on Netflix on June, 9 and it doesn’t seem that these events will cause the change of already arranged date.

The sequel will be focused on the events that come as a consequence of Poussey’s death. His death has caused rebellion in Litchfield prison.

The trailer for Season 5 has already been released, and it represents the continuation of Season 4, that is, it begins with the scene in which Daya points a gun at CO Humphrey’s head.

Taylor Schilling (Piper) has commented: “I think the stakes are higher in this season than they have been in a while just by virtue of the compressed time and seeing people in compressed circumstance really raises the stakes. It’s exciting to watch, I think for all of us.”

As for Danielle Brooks (Taystee), she thinks that the next season will be “very detailed and very intense.” We’ll see what waits in store for us.
