Lamborghini has decided for a special delivery of their rarest and newest version of Huracán RWD. Namely, it is an ultra limited-edition version of the supercar, so one must assume that its recipient would be someone extremely special. Believe it or not, it is delivered to Pope Francis himself. It was awarded to him in a ceremony on Wednesday at the Vatican, which was attended by company executives.

What kind of a Popemobile is this one? According to Catholic News Agency, it’s the seventh version of the Huracán, known as the Italian company’s entry-level model. It is to be auctioned at RM Sotheby’s on May 12, 2018. The Holy See ordered that the proceeds be split among three charitable causes – helping victims of human trafficking, supporting missionary work in Africa and restoring villages on the Nineveh Plain in Iraq.

The papal Huracán RWD was blessed and autographed by the pontiff. The ceremony was also held in the presence of Lamborghini Chairman and CEO Stefano Domenicali, board members and two employees who assisted in the building of the car. As far as its look is concerned, it is done in Monoverus white with Tiberio yellow stripes running across the hood, roof and body, as a reflection of the colors of the flag of Vatican City.

Huracán’s predecessor was the Gallardo, which is Lamborghini’s best-selling model of all time, while its design was inspired by the hexagonal form of the carbon atom. It is powered by a naturally aspirated, 5.2-liter V10 which makes 602 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. Wondering what its price might be? Usually, the sports car starts $199,800. However, since this version was blessed and autographed by the pope, one might say it is priceless and invaluable. Maybe someone would argue that a Popemobile should have been a bit more modest one, but who are we to judge?
